(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Thursday April 02, 2015, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to an incident involving two vehicles on Hwy 7 between Stratford and Perth Line 9 (the Wildwood round-about).
Investigation indicated that around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday April 02, 2015, a lone male driver was operating a red GMC pickup truck west bound on Hwy 7 north of the Wildwood round-about. The driver of the GMC pickup truck passed a west bound blue Volkswagen Jetta. Shortly after the pass the Jetta caught up to the GMC pickup truck, passed it on the north shoulder (on the passenger side of the GMC). The Jetta pulled in front of it making a sudden and hard brake application. This resulted in the vehicles making contact before coming to a stop.
The male driver of Jetta exited his vehicle and approached the driver’s side of the GMC, where he proceeded to yell at, and assault the GMC driver through the open driver’s side window. The Jetta driver then walked back to his car and continued driving west bound on Hwy 7. The Jetta entered the Wildwood roundabout and proceeded west on Perth Line 9 towards St.Marys. The GMC driver contacted police and reported the incident. The GMC driver did not require medical treatment.
The Perth County OPP is continuing their investigation into this assault. They would like to speak to anyone who may have observed the assault, or the series of driving events that took place prior to the assault. You can contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
