(CALEDON, ON) – During the week of December 6th to December 13th, officers from the R.I.D.E. (Reducing Impaired Driving Everywhere) Team and Patrol Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted 36 R.I.D.E. spot checks at various locations within the Town of Caledon.
Charges and Suspensions:
45 Approved Screening Device Tests (Drivers who consumed alcohol but breath
samples were less than 50 mgs)
6 – Three-Day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspensions
2 – Seven-Day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspensions
5 Impaired Operation/Over 80/Care and Control arrests from the R.I.D.E. program
Impaired/Over 80/Refuse or Fail to Provide Sample Arrests made during the above-mentioned week:
On December 6th, Jeffrey Mark McLAY, 30, from New Lowell was charged with the following offences: Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample, Resist a Peace Office and Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest.
On December 9th, Dusan KINK, 50, from Caledon was charged with the offence of Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
On December 11th, Taylor COULTER, 24, from Caledon was charged with the offence of Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
On December 12th, Michael Desrocher, 54, from Brampton was charged with the offence of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
On December 13th, Bansraj Ryan RAMNARINE, 36, from Caledon was charged with the offence of Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
