Good Samaritan Helps Get Drunk Driver 3X Limit Off The Road

(PETROLIA, ON) – On Saturday December 12, 2015 at approximately 3:27 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information from a concerned motorist, of a possible impaired driver traveling westbound on 402 Highway, Town of Plymptom-Wyoming.

The concerned motorist continued to follow the suspected impaired driver updating police as to driving behaviour and location. Responding OPP officers were eventually directed to a residential property in the 500 block of Plympton Street, Town of Wyoming where the motor vehicle and driver were located. After making contact with the driver, the investigating OPP officer formed the opinion that the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. The female driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP – Petrolia Detachment for breath testing which resulted in readings more than three times the legal limit.

As a result, 32 year-old, Sarah DONOHUE of Windsor, ON was charged with:

Driving While Ability Impaired

Driving With More Than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood

The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday January 4, 2015.

The OPP is reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol or other drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. The OPP would like to encourage the public to dial 911 to report anyone who is operating or about to operate a motor vehicle while impaired.
