Occurrence #: BA14012108
Date: Monday, March 17, 2014 – 6:00pm
Officers from the Barrie Police Traffic Unit conducted RIDE at numerous locations throughout the City and stopped well over 450 vehicles. Though a high number of vehicles were stopped, not a single roadside test was administered, and no parties were arrested for Impaired Driving.
Officers noted that many vehicles when stopped, advised that they had a designated driver who was not planning on drinking for the evening. This made the evening uneventful in regards to drinking and driving, and kept the attention on the revelry of St. Patrick’s Day.
The Barrie Police continue to reinforce, that if you are planning to operate a motor vehicle, please take the second to plan for a ride home, whether it be a taxi, public transit, designated driver or driver service.
The Barrie Police Traffic Unit maintains committed to road and pedestrian safety.
