(SUDBURY, ON) – At 6:39 p.m., on May 13, 2016, members from the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, near Stinson Hydro road, in the City of Greater Sudbury.
Investigation revealed a pickup truck left the roadway and entered the north ditch. It was also determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.
Richard FLESCH, 65 years of age, from Wahnapitae, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Care or control while impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
Care or control over 80 milligrams, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury, on June 1, 2016, to answer to his charges.
The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol or drug consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
