RESULTS FROM OPP R.I.D.E SPOT CHECKS OVER THE WEEKEND

(Essa Township, ON) During the evenings of Friday the 12th of September and Saturday the 13th of September 2014, officers from the Nottawasaga OPP set-up R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot checks throughout the Nottawasaga OPP detachment area.

As a result, officers checked approximately 100 vehicles, which resulted in a 49-year old male from Essa Township being charged with Possession of Schedule II (Cannabis Marijuana). And further, two drivers were issued 3-day driver’s licence suspensions.

The Nottawasaga OPP is reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol can impair one’s ability to drive and that the OPP can issue an immediate roadside driver’s licence suspension to drivers who register a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) in the Warn Range” of .05 to .08.
