Resident Confronts Home Invaders

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment investigated an incident after being contacted by a concerned homeowner at a 1st Concession, South Walsingham, Norfolk County, ON address.

On Thursday, April 21, 2016, at approximately 9:42 a.m., police were contacted by a homeowner after two unknown males forcibly entered the residence.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that the occupant of the residence was sleeping in the basement when they were awoken to sounds of footsteps throughout the house. The resident went to go up the stairs where the two unknown suspects were confronted.

Both males were informed to leave the residence at which they fled outside to an awaiting vehicle. The resident then contacted police.

The first suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’9 to 6’0, mid 20’s, wearing a dark coloured baseball cap backwards, blue and green long sleeved shirt, blue jeans and dark shoes with a white edge around the bottom.

The second suspect is described as a male, 5’6, mid 20’s, stocky build, wearing a light coloured baseball cap, light coloured hooded sweater and pants, with dark high top shoes with a white edge around the bottom of the shoe.

The vehicle used to flee from the area was described as a red coloured Pontiac Grand Prix, with damage to the right rear bumper of the vehicle.

Police are reminding all home owners to ensure that all doors and windows are secured in order to prevent anyone from gaining access to your residence.
