Repeat Offenders Arrested In Brussels With Stolen Property And Methamphetamine – CAMPBELL & BENNINGER

(HURON EAST, ON) – Two Huron County males have been arrested and charged with a number of criminal offences following an occurrence that took place this Tuesday in Brussels.

At approximately 11:39 a.m. on July 25, 2017 members from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crimes Unit observed a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck parked on Ainley Street in Brussels with three males around the truck. While observing the vehicle, the pickup went mobile out of Brussels. At the time officers didn’t know the truck was stolen however officers had their suspicions. As it turned out, the registered owner in Formosa was contacted and police were informed the pickup had just been stolen.

Officers began to patrol around the area and the stolen pickup was observed once again parked out on Ainley Street. Around 12:30 p.m. one of the male suspects returned to the stolen pickup truck and was confronted by officers. He was taken into custody without incident. A second suspect was arrested shortly after at a nearby residence.

A search of the vehicle incident to arrest uncovered a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

Quinn CAMPBELL, 20 years of age from North Huron & Michael BENNINGER, 29 years of age, also from North Huron have each been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Mischief Under $5,000, Possession of Methamphetamine, Fail to Comply with Recognizance and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. They both remain in custody with court appearances scheduled for this week.

The third male suspect remains outstanding. He is described as a white male in his 20’s or 30’s with longer hair. Investigators would like to identify this male suspect.
