(PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Friday June 23, 2017 the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information about the location of a wanted male on Line 26 in the Township of Perth South.
OPP officers set up containment in the area. The wanted male and a passenger then left the residence in a stolen vehicle. The driver attempted to avoid a spike belt that had been set up and rolled a Ford pickup truck in a ditch. The driver fled on foot but was arrested shortly after. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and transported to a local area hospital where they were assessed and released.
28 year-old, Joshua BREAU, from Central Huron has now been charged with:
Mischief under 5000, contrary to the Criminal Code
13 counts of Fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code
2 counts of Dangerous operation of motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code
Possession of stolen property over 5000, contrary to the Criminal Code
3 counts of Possession of stolen property under 5000, contrary to the Criminal Code
2 counts of Possession of Schedule 1 substance, Contrary to Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Drive while under suspension and Deface Plate, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
25 year-old, Ashley SOUSA, from Zorra Township has now been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule 1 substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of stolen property over 5000, contrary to the Criminal Code
Fail to comply with conditions of Undertaking, contrary to the Criminal Code
Passenger-fail to properly wear seatbelt, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Both accused were held for a WASH court bail hearing on June 24, 2017.
