At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning the Owen Sound Police responded to a complainant of a male party who was believed to be heavily under the influence of alcohol and was going to drive away in his vehicle. Upon the officers arrival they did not find the male in question inside his vehicle but rather under it. It appears that the 41 year old Elmwood resident was attempting to repair his vehicle in the down town parking lot where he had earlier parked it.
Further investigation revealed that this individual is currently before the courts on several criminal charges for which he is out on his own recognizance with several conditions. The man was found to be breach of many of his conditions including his curfew, not to operate or have care and control of a motor vehicle and to abstain from alcohol and drugs. The vehicle was also found not to have the proper licence plates affixed to it. Upon his arrest officers found a small quantity of drugs in his possession as identified under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
The male party, identified as Terrance Young has been held in custody to be presented in bail court today on several criminal charges.
