Repeat Drunk Driver Arrested After Foot Chase – William BIDDLE Added To Hall Of Shame

(WEST PERTH, ON) – On December 24, 2016, shortly after 9:30 pm, a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a red Chrysler Neon car on Ontario Road in the Municipality of West Perth. OPP attempted to stop the car. The driver pulled into a parking lot and quickly exited his car. He was caught by the officer after a short foot chase.

After the driver was caught, the officer smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath and saw signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest for operating motor vehicle while impaired. He was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville for breath tests. He later provided samples of his breath into an Intoxilizer and registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 40-year-old William BIDDLE from West Perth has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Drive Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged with two counts of driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He was released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on January 9, 2017. He also received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the car was seized for 7 days.
