(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On November 13, 2015 at approximately 3:25 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was observing the traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph. A male driving a 2000 Toyota was observed travelling at a speed well above the posted speed limit and was locked on radar at 134 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
29-year-old Rene BOTZANG of Waterloo has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on December 2, 2015 to answer to the charge.
