Waterloo Region, Ontario – On Sunday February 23, 2014 just after 9pm, police responded to Wilmot Township for a report of gunshots at a residential property on Erb’s Road West, just west of Sandhills Road.
Upon arrival, emergency services located a deceased male outside the residence. He was later transported to Hamilton for a post mortem examination.
Homicide detectives are currently working to confirm the identity of the male and advise his next of kin. Investigators believe the deceased was not a resident at the location where the shooting occurred.
The investigation led Police to a Kitchener residence where two males were located with non- life threatening gunshot injuries believed to be related to the incident on Erb’s Road. They were transported to hospital for treatment. The males have since been released into police custody and currently facing charges of Robbery.
A 26 year old Wilmot Township man faces charges of Second Degree Murder and two counts of Attempted Murder. A 52 year old Kitchener male is charged with Accessory After the Fact. Both will be appearing in the Ontario Court of Justice later today.
Police believe that this was not a random incident.
