Regional Police concluding investigation into Kitchener deaths

Waterloo Region, ON – Waterloo Regional Police Homicide detectives are in the process of concluding an investigation into the deaths of Kitchener residents Lorrie Lynn Baechler and Robert Murphy.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, police are attributing the deaths of both individuals to the deliberate actions of the deceased male.

“This is a tragic and senseless incident that remains difficult for our community to comprehend,” said Police Chief Bryan Larkin. “At this time, we want to respect the privacy of the families as they grieve their tremendous loss. Additionally, as a community, we need to remain committed to working together to find solutions and preventing acts of violence.”

On Sunday June 14, 2015 just after 10:00 a.m., police responded to a home on Brock Street in Kitchener after receiving reports of gun shots. Lorrie Lynn Baechler and Robert Murphy were located by emergency services and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The results of the post mortem examination conducted in Hamilton are not being released for compassionate reasons but confirm the initial findings of detectives.

The investigation will conclude and no charges are being laid.
