(RED LAKE, ON) – In the early morning hours of September 5, 2015, officers from the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a possible impaired driver on an ATV in the Municipality of Red Lake. Upon locating and speaking with the driver, officers determined he had been consuming alcohol. A roadside test was conducted at the scene, which registered a fail. As a result, the driver was arrested and returned to Red Lake Detachment for further tests.
Clinton HUNTER, age 22, of Red Lake, has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive over 80 Milligrams contrary to Section 253(1) (a) and (b) of the Criminal Code. He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 1, 2015 to answer to the charges.

Glen FUNNELL, age 59, of Machin, has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive over 80 Milligrams contrary to Section 253(1) (a) and (b) of the Criminal Code. He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 1, 2015 to answer to the charges.
STOLEN PROPERTY BEING INVESTIGATED
(RED LAKE, ON) – On September 6, 2015, officers from the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received information that several individuals were in possession of stolen property. An investigation was commenced and as a result, Zachary Delisle, 28, of Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, Ontario, is charged with Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, Obstruct peace officer contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code, Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code, Possession of a firearm while prohibited contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the criminal Code, Careless Storage of a firearm contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code and Possession of ammunition while prohibited from doing so contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code. Megan Crowell, 28, of Fox Creek, Alberta is charged with Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to Section 354(1) (a) of the Criminal Code, Obstruct peace officer contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code, Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code. Justin Proctor, 28, of Timmins, Ontario is charged with Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, Careless Storage of a firearm contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code and Unauthorized Possession of a firearm contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code. All three remain in custody pending a showcause hearing.
HUNTING MISHAP LEADS TO INJURY
(RED LAKE, ON) – On September 7, 2015, officers from the Red Lake/Ear Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of male who had sustained a gunshot injury while returning from a hunt. The male was transported to Dryden Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation into the circumstances continues.
FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION
(RED LAKE, ON) – On September 8, 2015, officers from the Red Lake/Ear Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Joyce Lake Road northeast of Ear Falls. The driver of the motor vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigation into the circumstances continues. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
