Rash Of Vehicle Thefts In Perth

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to be dispatched to thefts of motor vehicles throughout the county.

On November 19, 2016 officers were notified that a white Ford pickup had gone missing overnight from a residence on Line 29 in Perth East. The vehicle was located, later that same day, near Highway 8 and Road 101. (Punky Doodles Corners)

On November 20, 2016, a black Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from a laneway at a residence on Line 80 in Township of Perth East. A green Ford F 350 pickup and trailer, that had been stolen earlier, from a residence in Waterloo Region was left in its place.

On November 20, 2016 a silver Chevrolet Cruz was stolen the area of Rogers Avenue in the Town of St Mary’s. The motor vehicle was recovered and found badly damaged in Oxford County.

On November 21, 2016 the theft of black Jeep Grand Cherokee occurred from a residence on Albert Avenue North in Listowel.

In an effort to deter these types of occurrences the OPP are encouraging people to take the following precautions:

Lock vehicle doors and pocket the keys when you park your car

Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running

Never leave valuable objects or packages in full view inside the vehicle

Anyone having knowledge of persons responsible for the above thefts, or location of above mentioned vehicles, is urged to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
