(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On September 27, 2014 an OPP officer was on patrol on Kawartha Lakes Road 48 near Highway 35 when a vehicle using a radar detector passed the police cruiser. The officer became aware of the presence of the radar detector and subsequently stopped the vehicle.
Andrew SALMERS, 53 years of age, of Port Perry was charged with driving with a speed measuring warning device, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The device was seized and the accused faces of fine of $170.00.
