R.I.D.E. RESULTS IN ARREST

(CALEDON, ON) – On October 19th, 2014 shortly before 8 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reducing Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check on Main Street and Bush Street in the Belfountain area. Officers observed a blue Dodge Caravan stop short of the spot check and enter in a private driveway. The officers approached the driver who provided a false identity to them. During the course of the investigation, officers located stolen property inside the motor vehicle and learned the driver’s true identity.

As a result, Brandon Marshall HAINES, 20, from Guelph was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Obstruct a Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Driving while Disqualified and several Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offences.

He was held in custody overnight and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville the following day.
