R.I.D.E. PROGRAM FINDS DRUGS

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – On July 24, 2014 at approximately 8:34 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Conservation Drive near Watson Road, Guelph-Eramosa Township. Police spoke with a male and female in a 2010 Ford and detected a strong odour of marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers seized approximately 27 grams of suspected marihuana and approximately 3 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms.

John Stephen age 61 and Lois Armstrong age 58 both of Peelee Island have been charged with Possession of Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They are scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 9, 2014 to answer to the charges.
