(CALEDON, ON) – On December 8th, 2013 shortly after 8 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) blitz in the area of Olde Base Line Road and McLaughlin Road.
A red 1995 GMC Sierra pick up approached the spot check and when officers spoke with the male driver, they detected an odour of alcohol along with slurred speech. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to Detachment for testing.
Once the investigation was concluded, Richard Thomas GOULD, 55, of Caledon was arrested and charged with Driving with More than 80 mgs. of alcohol.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on December 19, 2013.
