(Bancroft, Ontario) – Although the 2013/2014 Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign has wrapped up for the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Officers continue to conduct R.I.D.E. checks. Officers at the Bancroft OPP detachment and OPP Highway Safety Division checked 273 motor vehicles between January 12th and January 19th in the Bancroft and surrounding area. R.I.D.E. checks were visible both on the highways and snowmobile trails.
As a result of the R.I.D.E checks 1 Liquor Licence Act charge was laid, 1 Highway Traffic Act charge was laid and 1 Controlled Drug and Substance Act charge was laid.
