(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – Members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on March 22, 2014 at the intersection of Oastler Park Drive and Rankin Lake Road in Seguin Township. At approximately 10:20 p.m., a pick-up truck approached the check and stopped abruptly. Police observed the driver to be holding a cellular phone in his hand. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the driver was operating his motor vehicle with a suspended licence.
Robert DOVE, 45 years of age from Seguin Township, was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle on a Highway While Using a Hand held Communication Device and Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). The accused will appear before the Provincial Offences Court Parry Sound on April 29, 2014 to answer to his charges.
