(Prescott,Ont.) – Between Monday April 24th , to Sunday April 30th 2017, the Prescott Office of the Grenville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 40 general occurrences. Of these occurrences, 10 were in Edwardsburgh /Cardinal Township, 12 in Augusta Township, 11 in the town of Prescott and 7 on highway 401 and 416.
On April 27th, at approximately 4am the OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 2, in Augusta Township. At this location, a Dodge Neon had been driven off the road, hitting a speed limit sign and then continued into a residence driveway, hitting a parked BMW and pushing this vehicle into a boat and trailer. There were no injuries, but all involved vehicles were heavily damaged. Austin BRUNETTE, age 18 of Prescott was charged with :
Adult driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle
Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in blood.
On April the 30th at approximately 5pm, a Grenville County OPP officer stopped a Audi on 416 Highway South, for speeding. As the officer exited the cruiser an approached the driver, the driver fled the scene. The police located the vehicle, a short time later, parked in the Canadian Tire parking lot, in Prescott. The male driver, Brooks PITRE-LANYS, age 29, from Ottawa was charged with:
Adult flight while pursued by peace officer
Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
Possession of property obtained by crime, under $5,000.
