(Prescott, ON.) –Members of the Prescott Detachment of the Grenville County O.P.P. responded to a total of 140 calls for service from August 10th to August 17th, 2015 inclusive.
Assault with a Weapon
August 16, 2015
Time – approximately 2:00 am.
Location – Town of Prescott
Just after 2:00 am on August 16, 2015 police were dispatched to a report of an assault with a weapon on King St. in the Town of Prescott. The complainant had contacted 911 reporting to have had been assaulted with an axe. Police investigation revealed the complainant was in fact the one with the axe and when swinging it at another person had struck herself, receiving the only injury in the altercation with another female. A 19 year old female from Cornwall Ontario has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and is to appear in Brockville court at a later date.
Drug Offences

Location – Augusta Township
On August 16, 2015 at approx.4:20 pm police observed a hitchhiker on the right shoulder, south side of Hwy 401 at the eastbound on ramp at Edward St. in the Town of Prescott. The hitchhiker advised his car had broken down and he was leaving it in Prescott and making his way back to Ottawa. Further investigation revealed this male person to be in possession of marihuana. A 51 year old male from Ottawa On has been charged with Possession of Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams and is to appear in Brockville Court at a later date.
Multi Motor Vehicle Collision

Location – Edwardsburgh Township
Just before 1:30 pm on August 14, 2015 police were called to a multi-vehicle collision on County Road 2, 200 meters east of Queen St. in Edwardsburgh Township. Vehicles were traveling east on County Rd. 2 when the first vehicle a 2000 Pontiac Montana Vn turned left into a parking lot. The 2nd vehicle a 2004 Vol CTS stopped quickly and was struck from behind by the 3rd vehicle a 2015 Toyt TAC. The 4th vehicle a 2006 GMC Cube van was able to stop, however vehicle 5 a 2011 Dodge Car struck the cub van causing extensive damage to the front end. No injuries,investigation is continuing.
