(TOWNSHIP OF NEW TECUMSETH) – On Saturday, May 27, 2017 at approximately 0:20 a.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver travelling in the area of Tottenham Road, Township of New Tecumseth.
Officers located the suspect vehicle on County Road 27. They conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the lone male driver of the 4-door white Acura. After further investigation into the driver, it was determined that Pratheepan KIRUBANANTHAN, age 33 of Bradford was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and charged with Over 80mgs of Alcohol per 100 Millilitres of Blood.
The 90-Day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and the driver’s vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will attend a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford.
