Power Lines Downed By Tractor – Police Seeking Public Assistance

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers would like to know who was operating a farm tractor early this morning that pulled down some overhead power lines near the village of Cranbrook. Somewhere between 12:15 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. power to several homes in the Cranbrook area was knocked out after overhead hydro wires got snagged by a tractor that was pulling some sort of implement, quite possibly a cultivator.

Wires were pulled down in Cranbook and nearby on McNabb Line. The damage to the hydro line on McNabb Line caused the hydro pole to collapse which resulted in extensive flashing and sparking.

The tractor operator failed to remain at the scene of the collision. Huron County OPP is seeking information that may help identify this driver. Should you have information that may help investigators with this collision you are encouraged to call Huron OPP at (519) 524-8314 or toll free at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
