(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment want to remind all Norfolk County resident’s about home security after police were contacted by a concerned homeowner at a Hazen Road, North Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Thursday, November 21, 2013, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a homeowner contacted police after arriving home and noticing a suspicious red coloured vehicle that was parked in the driveway of their residence. The homeowner observed the vehicle drive up to their barn on the property and stop.
Two males exited the vehicle at which time the homeowner confronted the males who continued to walk around the property without stopping. The males fled back to their vehicle after the homeowner’s dog was observed. The vehicle then fled from the driveway was last seen travelling on Hazen Road.
The vehicle is being described as a red coloured Honda with no licence plates on the front or rear of the vehicle. The males are described as being dressed in dark coloured clothing.
The OPP would like to take this opportunity to remind all residents of the importance of locking all windows and doors to residences, barns, turning on lights and keeping a watch for suspicious persons and vehicles.
If you see suspicious persons or vehicles, try to obtain as much detail as you can, write down the person(s) description, the type of vehicle they are driving and the licence plate number.
Then don’t delay, call the police and report it. 1 – 888 – 310 – 1122 will put you in contact with the nearest O.P.P. Communications Centre to report the activity. OPP (677) on your cellular will also work.
