(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 13, 2014 at approximately 1:06 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint involving a black BMW on Highway 6 near Wellington Road 22 in Centre Wellington Township.
Police located the vehicle on the 2nd Line near Jones Baseline. As the vehicle was slowing down to stop, the front passenger exited the vehicle and fled the scene.
Officers spoke with the driver and believed that he was impaired by a drug and placed him under arrest. Officers observed a green leafy substance and syringes on the front passenger seat inside the vehicle. The driver and vehicle were searched and a crystal like substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, was located as well as a cross bow and two handgun magazines which are compatible with a 9mm handgun.
Uniform officers set up containment and established a perimeter of the area while the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit conducted a search. The male passenger was located a short distance away. The male was arrested and searched and police seized a baggy containing a clear, crystal like substance, suspected to be methamphetamine.
Police also located a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun in the area.
Police investigation revealed that the driver was on conditions not to possess any weapons, ammunition or firearms and not to consume any drugs or medication without a prescription. The passenger was also on conditions not to possess any medication or drugs without a prescription.
Krzystof KURZYDLOWSKI age 31 of Kitchener has been charged with:
– Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Under $5000
– Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There Was a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
– Fail to Comply With Officer In Charge Undertaking
– Possession of Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order
All charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was held for a Bail Hearing to answer to his charges.
Brandon MAY age 28 of Centre Wellington Township has been charged with:
– Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
– Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order
– Breach of Probation
– Possession of Property Obtained by a Crime Under $5000
All charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was held for a Bail Hearing to answer to his charges.
