(Norfolk County, ON) -Members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have issued one of their own following a motor vehicle collision on December 3, 2014.
Investigation by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators revealed that the officer was responding to a priority call on Windham Road 7 at 8:00 p.m. when he failed to stop at the dead-end road. The Chevrolet Tahoe police cruiser ran off the roadway where it struck a tree and ended up coming to rest against a dirt berm.
Though the cruiser sustained extensive damage, the officer was uninjured.
OPP has charged Provincial Constable Kyle HAMILTON with Carless Driving contrary to Section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act. The member has served with the OPP for eleven months.
