Police Seeking Public’s Assistance After Vehicle Runs Over Dog

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment are seeking the public’s assistance after police were called to a Beckett Street, Simcoe, Charlotteville, Ontario, address.

On Saturday, May 16, 2015, approximately 2:00 p.m., police were contacted by a distraught homeowner after their family dog was run over by an unknown vehicle.

Through investigation it was determined that an unknown vehicle attended the address and proceeded to drive southbound up a driveway leading to the residence. The driver of the vehicle passed clearly marked no trespassing and private property signs. As the vehicle approached the residence the driver was met by two family pets.

The driver of the vehicle then reversed down the driveway at a higher rate of speed at which time the vehicle struck a 3 year old black coloured Husky/Sheppard dog.

The vehicle then fled at a high rate of speed and was last seen traveling westbound towards Spooky Hollow Road.

The suspect vehicle is being described as silver or light grey coloured Hyundai Tuscon.

The homeowner of the animal rushed their family pet to an emergency veterinarian however the dog was pronounced deceased.
