Police Seek Witnesses To Manica Hit And Run Driver

Peterborough County OPP are requesting the publics assistance in a fail to remain motor vehicle accident on County Road 29 in the Township of Selwyn.

On August 24th 2015 at approximately 4:00pm, 2 motorcycles were traveling northbound on County Road 29 in the area of the Giant Tiger Department Store behind another N/B vehicle when they became involved in a collision with the northbound vehicle. One of the motorcycles was struck by the motor vehicle which then turned around and proceeded southbound towards Peterborough. The operator of the other motorcycle (not struck) pursued the suspect vehicle. Both vehicles came to a stop at a Trent University Residence Parking Lot at which time the driver of the motor vehicle backed into the motorcycle. The suspect motor vehicle then fled the scene northbound again on County Road 29.

As a result of the incident, the driver of the motorcycle who was struck initially sustained serious but not life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
