Police Seek Assistance to Identify Youths Responsible for Numerous Arsons

On Monday November 7th 2016 shortly after 12:00 AM, Burlington Fire Department attended the area of Palmer Drive and Newlands Crescent after a group of youths were reportedly seen setting fires to random objects in the area.

The Burlington Fire Department doused several small fires and several more burned out on their own. Police searched the area and did not locate any suspects.

Later in the day, police received numerous complaints from residents along Newlands Crescent and Palmer Drive who reported items being lit on fire which fortunately caused only minor damage however could have been much worse. Items such as Halloween & Christmas decorations, garden accessories, realtor signs, newspapers, yard waste bags and a wreath hanging on a front door were ignited. The total value of the damage is not yet known.
