Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 09Nov2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 145 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.

Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK16037926

On October 26, 2016 police responded to a theft complaint at 7-Eleven on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Through investigation, the woman was identified as being responsible and a warrant was issued for her arrest for the offences of theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and failing to comply with her release conditions.

Yesterday morning, police located the woman and she was arrested. The 20-year-old Chatham woman was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Student Charged with Assault CK16037827

On November 7, 2016 police responded to an assault complaint at a school in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the student had assaulted a school official. The student was suspended and left the school property prior to police arrival.

Last night, police located the student and he was charged with assault. The 12-year-old Wallaceburg boy will be required to attend court on November 28, 2016.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16037946

Yesterday morning, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Queens Line between Richmond Street and Dillon Road.

Two people were transported to hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 17-year-old Glencoe teen was charged with careless driving.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham CK16038002

Last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Forest Street near Elizabeth Street.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 44-year-old Chatham woman was charged with disobeying a stop sign.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16038031

Shortly after midnight, police responded to a two vehicle collision on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 35-year-old Chatham woman was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Theft in Mitchell’s Bay CK16037979

Sometime between October 30, 2016 and November 6, 2016, unknown suspect(s) stole seven batteries from trailers parked on the east side of the Mitchell’s Bay Marine Park.

The batteries are valued at approximately $200 each.
