Police Investigating Threat That Triggered School Lockdown

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to the Listowel District Secondary School around the noon hour on Thursday October 29, 2015, after an unknown caller had made a general threat to the school.

School officials and Perth County OPP members placed the school under lockdown to ensure that everyone at the school was safe and no threat existed. Normal school operations continued, and at the conclusion of the school day students were let out and bussed home as per-usual.

While the Perth County OPP is continuing its investigation into this incident, they would appreciate hearing from anyone having knowledge as to the origin of the telephone call, or any other information relating to this incident.
