POLICE INVESTIGATING SERIOUS CRASH

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) Police are currently investigating a serious two vehicle collision that occurred on Oneida Road at Fairgrounds Road, Oneida of the Thames First Nation. On June 30, 2014 at approximately 3:06 a.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police and OPP Canine Unit assisted Oneida of the Thames First Nation Police with the investigation into the collision.

Police are continuing their investigation to assess the number of occupants and the extent of injuries as some occupants left the scene before police arrived. One male was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team is currently on scene. The intersection of Oneida Road at Fairgrounds Road was closed for the investigation but reopened at approximately 10:00 a.m.

One male is in custody and charges are pending in relation to the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
