Police Investigating Personal Injury Incident

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On March 11, 2016, just after 7:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report regarding an injury sustained by a 22 year-old female, from Ridgetown, while she was fishing on the bank of the Thames River, near Bothwell.

The female was taken to hospital where she is being treated for a non-life threatening injury.

The OPP Crime Unit has been called to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The mechanism of injury has yet to be determined and is a focus of the investigation at this time.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area of Thames River near Bothwell on Friday evening.
