(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 28 year old female after police investigated a marine collision in Long Point Bay, Norfolk County, Ontario.
On Sunday, July 27, 2014 at approximately 7:24 p.m., members of the Norfolk County Marine Unit and Canadian Coast Guard responded to a vessel collision involving two personal water crafts.
Investigation has revealed that two Sea-doo personal water crafts were being operated on Lake Erie when both collided off Whitefish Bar Island.
One of the Sea-doos was damaged and subsequently sunk in approximately 4 to 5 feet of water and was assisted back to shore by the Canadian Coast Guard. No injuries were sustained and the operators along with a passenger were taken back to shore by a passing boating enthusiast.
As a result of investigation, police have issued a Provincial Offence Notice and charged 28 year old Tina Barbara TADOVIANSKAS of Hamilton, Ontario with careless operation of a small vessel, under the small vessels regulation, Canada shipping act.
