(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford County Detachment was contacted by a concerned resident after a suspicious male attended a Stanley Street North, Zorra Township Ontario, address.
On Wednesday, February 19, 2014 between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., an unknown male attended the residence and advised the elderly homeowner that he was the service maintenance inspector and wanted access to the residence in order to change the filters in the furnace.
Access was granted to the residence at which time the furnace filter was replaced. The unknown male then asked for payment which was not provided. The male then exited the residence and was last seen leaving the area in a red coloured pick-up truck.
The OPP would like to remind all community residents to be extremely vigilant when an unknown person arrives at your door offering to provide a service that you did not inquire about.
Residents are being asked to contact police if they see suspicious persons or vehicles and to try to obtain as much detail as you can, write down the person(s) description, the type of vehicle they are driving and the licence plate number.
