Our Great Oppressor neil vincent is trying to make Town Hall the only place in Canada where you are not allowed to record the police in the performance of their duties, especially on council meeting days. So far he has been successful. Chief Poole apparently sits back laughing as he throws constable after constable “under the bus” at every council meeting, while vincent orders the town hall cameras shut off every time the police are expected to show up.
Chief Poole is likely going to send in Sergeant Foxton to the next council meeting. It would be a great way to get back at him since Foxton makes $124,000/year while the Chief “only” makes $112,000/year.
According to neil vincent the police and town staff can record you, but you can NOT record them. If you are a member of the Public/Press Gallery simply having a camera in your possession is reason enough for neil vincent to order you to be expelled from meetings under threat of arrest/imprisonment.
It is clear the Wingham police are there to protect and serve Council and vice versa. Maybe that’s why they cost 2X as much as the OPP and why council rubber stamps their budget without question or comparison.
