(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday July 12, 2013, shortly before 8 p.m., a small plane was observed in a ditch along Perth Line 20, south west of Sebringville.
Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to the scene and located a 1985 red and white “Russell Captain ll†plane. The 76 year old pilot, a resident of Burlington was making an emergency landing in a hay field when the plane over shot the field and came to rest in the ditch.
The pilot sustained minimal injuries. The plane’s propeller and landing gear were damaged. The Canadian Transportion Safety Board is investigating this incident.
