(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On April 19, 2015, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a possible impaired driver travelling eastbound on Longwoods Road, near Glen Oak Drive, in the Municipality of Strathroy Caradoc, Ontario.
Police initiated a traffic stop and determined the male driver of the blue Mercedes car had been drinking alcohol. The male was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Peter SEMOWONIUK, age 56, from Southwest Middlesex, Ontario, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on May 28, 2015.
