(Peterborough, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit have charged a Peterborough man following a six week on-line child pornography investigation.
On December 1, 2015 police from the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, OPP Technological Crime Unit and the Peterborough Police Service executed a search warrant at a Peterborough residence. As a result of this investigation, one computer device and other items pertinent to the investigation were seized. Some of the items seized contained images of child sexual abuse. Police also located and seized forty-six grams (46) of cannabis marihuana during the search.
Steven George SUTTON, age 54 years, of Peterborough Ontario is charged with one count of Possession of Child Pornography, one count of Accessing Child Pornography, one count of Make Child Pornography Available and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The accused was released with conditions following a bail hearing. He is scheduled to appear on December 17, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough Ontario.
The investigation is continuing.
