(Prince Edward County, ON) – On September 9, 2014 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County Crime Unit began an investigation into an incident where a young female had been sexually assaulted during the month of August 2014. It is believed that in the weeks following, the accused had communicated with the victim using social media. The police investigation, lead to the search of a Hillier Ward residence yesterday, the location of the alleged offence. OPP arrested 60-year old, Peter MacDOUGALL.
MacDOUGALL is charged with the following offences:
Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 Years of Age, contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 Years of Age, contrary to Section 152 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Sexual Interference with a Person Under 16 Years of Age, contrary to Section 151(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Luring a Person Under 18 Years of Age by Means of Telecommunication, contrary to Section 172.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 16 Years of Age, contrary to Section 171.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was later released from police custody on a promise to appear and undertaking by the officer in charge and is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on October 1, 2014.
