(TOWNSHIP OF ADJALA/TOSORONTIO, ON) – On Friday the 12th of December 2014 at 10:47 p.m. the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency personnel were dispatched to assist a pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of County Road 50 and County Road 1 in the Township of Adjala/Tosorontio.
Further investigation revealed, a red pick-up truck was travelling northbound on County Road 50 just passing the intersection of County Road 1, when a pedestrian crossed westbound over County Road 50 and was struck by the pick-up truck. The pedestrian was identified as, 65-year old female Linda SHAW of Brampton, Ontario and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Unit (TTCI) conducted a thorough investigation into the collision, and events leading up to the collision. As a result, the pedestrian was found to have been inattentive while crossing the road. The investigation has concluded.
