Pedestrian In Crosswalk Struck By Bus

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Queensway West, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Thursday, June 25, 2015 at approximately 10:26 a.m., police were called to a Queensway West address for a bus collision involving a pedestrian.

Through investigation it has been determined that a pedestrian was crossing within the crosswalk southbound on Queensway West when a bus was in the process of turning westbound from Queen Street North. The driver of the vehicle subsequently came into contact with a pedestrian resulting in minor injuries. The vehicle was was last seen heading westbound on Queensway West.

At approximately 12:41p.m., the vehicle involved in the collision was located at a West Street address, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario.

As a result of police investigation, 34-year-old Devon Anthony ABRAHAMS of Kingston, Jamaica was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with fail to yield to pedestrian.
