(TAY TOWNSHIP) – On April 10, 2016 at approximately 10:04 p.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check at the intersection of Vasey Road and Rumney Road in Tay Township.
A black Ford F150 entered the RIDE check. Upon speaking to the two male occupants, an officer detected a smell of marihuana. Through further investigation, officers located a small quantity of suspected cannabis-marihuana in the vehicle.
The male driver, Brandon PAYNTER (age 19) of Oro-Medonte Township is charged with:
Possession of a schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances act (CDSA)
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland, Ontario on June 2, 2016.
