(Goderich, ON) – On April 29, 2011 at approximately 9:00 pm, Huron OPP officers were at the Shell Gas station in Goderich when they observed a vehicle with a cracked windshield. The officers went to speak to the driver and while doing so, realized that the man had been drinking alcohol. One officer read a demand that the driver provide a sample of his breath into the roadside Alcotest. The driver complied and failed his test. The male was arrested for Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. The driver provided two more samples of his breath and the readings confirmed a blood alcohol level which was above the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, Paul HANNA (64) of North Huron was charged with one count of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 6, 2011.
