(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver being charged with two Highway Traffic Act (HTA) related offences.
On January 9, 2015 an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Little Britain Road. The vehicle was travelling at 111km/h in an 80 km/h zone at the time of the stop. Further investigation conducted by the officer revealed that the driver was in contravention of his conditions as he was operating a motor vehicle that was not equipped with an ignition interlock device.
As a result of the investigation Paul ALLEN, 61 years of age, of Pickering, was charged with speeding and driving a motor vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock device, contrary to the HTA.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on March 10, 2015.
