(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Sunday morning May 30, 2010, shortly before 2 a.m., Perth County OPP officers, the Twp. of Perth East Fire Dept. (Shakespeare Stn.), and ambulance personnel were dispatched to a collision on Road 108 south of Hwy. 7/8.
A south bound black GMC Sierra pickup truck on Road 108 operated by an 18 year old Township of Perth East male lost control on the gravel road and entered the ditch and field on the east side of the road. The vehicle rolled and one of the vehicles 6 teenage occupants was partially ejected from the vehicle.
The partially ejected 17 year old female passenger was transported by air ambulance to the London Health Sciences Centre with non life threatening injuries. The 5 other occupants were transported to Stratford General Hospital where they were treated and released.
The driver of the truck had not been drinking and alcohol was not a factor in this collision, three of the passengers were however charged with liquor offences.
The Perth County OPP with the assistance of the OPP Western Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate this crash.
