(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the East Region Highway Enforcement Team (HET) of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a collision that resulted in a man from Angus, Ontario facing multiple charges.
On the 8th of September 2016 at about 8:00 AM Leeds OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 regarding a transport truck all over the road. Further calls advised that a portion of the guard rail near the Truck Inspection Station east of Gananoque had been struck.
HET members located and stopped the transport near Mallorytown. Investigations lead officers to arresting the driver for being impaired by a drug. He was also found to be in possession of a large quantity of an Opium based product.
40 year old, Palwinder SINGH, of Angus Ontario is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Provincial Division – Brockville on the 4th of November 2016 to answer to the Impaired Driving Charge, Drug Charges of Possession and Possession for the purpose of Trafficking, and numerous Provincial offences related to Log Book violations and Failing to Remain.
